Bird sexing analysis from DNA samples is, nowadays, the most common method to determine if your bird is either a male or a female. It is most commonly used in bird species that do not present distinguishable physical characteristics, such as, plumage color, beak size and so on, or is birds that are not yet sexually mature. This type of analyzes is also the fastest, safest, stress free, low cost and 99.9% reliable method of sexing your bird. It is also a technique that requires a low amount of genetic material (feathers, blood or eggshell) and is also applicable to the vast majority of bird species.

A previous knowledge of the bird gender allows breeders to have a bigger advantage of the bird’s development and reproduction, by creating couples at a very young age. It is also very important in species conservation projects of endangered species, mostly. By knowing the sex of the birds, scientists are able to reproduce the birds and increase the number of individuals, before releasing them to the wild.

With an ISO 9001 certification we can reassure you a quality treatment of your samples. We also test them at least twice to make sure our results are reliable.

You will have your results available to you in 2 to 3 working days, after your samples arrive at our laboratory. If we don’t fulfill this deadline we are doing all the efforts to achieve a result with the sample that you’ve send us, such as, the necessary repetitions to achieve a result. If we request a new sample, we won’t charge you for it.

Simultaneously to your results you will have an online certificate available to download on your account and you will also receive on your mail box a bird identity card. If you ever need a certificate with stamp, please contact us, we will be delighted to help you!
